We offer a clear path for adults who want to tap, from your very first shuffle to Intermediate and Advanced. Our studio is on Level 1, 240 St Kilda Road, St Kilda, close by South Yarra. Beginners are welcome, and your first class is free at every level.

Our levels

• Absolute beginners adult tap (Thursday 6pm, Saturday 9am)
• Tap and Tea, our social beginner class, with tea and biscuits afterwards (Tuesday 1:30pm). Message us to book your spot.
• Beginners plus (Tuesday 6:30pm)
• Beg plus to Int (Monday 6:30pm)
• Intermediate (Thursday 8pm)
• Int/Adv, Intermediate and Advanced (Monday 7:30pm, Tuesday 7:30pm, Thursday 7pm)

On Saturday mornings we also run Seated Tap & Percussion at 10am and Adult Broadway Jazz at 11am, if you fancy the full morning.

Classes run weekly, with a special timetable during Summer School (from the week of 7 December).

Wear flat shoes, or borrow our free loaner tap shoes with socks. Casual classes are $26, or you can pay by fortnightly autopay for $42 a fortnight (works out at $21 a class), with no minimum term or lock-in contract.

Getting here from South Yarra

South Yarra station is on the same Sandringham line as Balaclava, our nearest station. Trams 67 and 3 stop along St Kilda Road, close to our door.

• After work, along Toorak Road: tram 58 stops at South Yarra Station (stop 127) and Chapel St/Toorak Rd (stop 128). Take it towards West Coburg to Toorak Rd/St Kilda Rd (stop 22). It's a short walk to the tram 3 and 67 stop on St Kilda Road. Catch either one heading south (towards East Malvern or Carnegie) and get off at Argyle St/St Kilda Rd (stop 33).
• By train: take a Sandringham line train from South Yarra three stops to Balaclava (via Prahran and Windsor). From Balaclava station, catch tram 3 towards Melbourne University to Argyle St/St Kilda Rd (stop 33).
• Down Chapel Street: tram 78 from Toorak Rd/Chapel St (stop 50) runs towards Balaclava. Get off at Carlisle St/Chapel St (stop 37). It's a short walk around the corner to the tram 3 stop on Carlisle Street. Take tram 3 towards Melbourne University to Argyle St/St Kilda Rd (stop 33).

Driving? Parking is on St Kilda Rd and the side streets. Most is free for 2 hours, but check the signs.

South Yarra FAQ

Can I join a higher level if I already tap?
Yes. Come along to your free first class at any level and we'll help you find the right fit. Our Int/Adv classes run on Monday and Tuesday at 7:30pm and Thursday at 7pm.

How do I get to the studio from South Yarra after work?
Catch tram 58 along Toorak Road towards West Coburg to Toorak Rd/St Kilda Rd (stop 22). It's a short walk to the tram 3 and 67 stop, then ride south along St Kilda Road to Argyle St/St Kilda Rd (stop 33).
